We are looking for a dedicated, proactive, and detail-oriented with a passion for optimizing supply chain processes Logistics Specialist to join our dynamic team in Riviera Beach, FL. As a Logistics Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations, significantly impacting our company’s success and customer satisfaction.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of logistics operations across North America, including shipping, receiving, warehouse storage, and stock management. You'll work with cutting-edge equipment, including our innovative drone-in-a-box systems. You will be a strategic thinker who can design and implement efficient processes to ensure seamless operations in our fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager, you will be a key player in our ambitious startup’s success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, supply chain management, and warehouse operations, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
This is an on-site position at our office located in Riviera Beach, FL.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all logistics, including shipping, receiving, and warehousing and inventory control.
- Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies to optimize goods movement, storage, and inventory levels.
- Manage warehouse parts & supplies inventory to maintain adequate levels without overstocking.
- Oversee the shipment and receipt of products, materials, and supplies, ensuring the optimal method of shipment and inspecting merchandise for any damages or discrepancies.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to shipping and receiving, including delays, damages, and shortages.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with transportation companies, and freight vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
- Provide support to the supply chain management team: coordinate delivery from suppliers and manufacturers, assist with receiving and provide on-site coordination for return efforts
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to meet logistics needs and communicate statuses effectively.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including safety and environmental standards.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, including shipping documents, inventory reports, and delivery schedules.
- Handle export/import processes, including transportation, delivery, storage, packaging, cargo handling regulations, and assigning systems to customers per purchase orders (POs).
- Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Use data for forecasting, anticipate future needs, and evaluate vendor services to secure cost-effective strategies
- Provide support and guidance to warehouse staff, ensuring proper training and adherence to procedures.
- Manage logistics workspace housekeeping to maintain an organized and efficient work environment.
- Assist with various tasks in the Operations department, including using equipment like forklifts, hand carts, or pallet jacks to manage inventory.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, including at least 1 year in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain processes, including inventory management, shipping, and receiving.
- Proficiency in logistics software and tools, including warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Experience creating reports using business intelligence/reporting programs.
- A working knowledge of inventory management software such as Netsuite, Priority, Oracle, or SAP.
- Knowledge of Bill of Lading requirements, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Regulations and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR), ISO requirements and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regulations and OSHA regulations.
- Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of ERP systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Detail-oriented and committed to ensuring accuracy and compliance in all logistics activities.
- Ability to work independently, track multiple processes, and handle pressure effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Forklift license/experience - required
- Understanding of inventory and logistics in a manufacturing environment is a plus
- Proficiency with basic hand and power tools is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, often ranging from 50 to 100 lbs
- Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting is required for managing warehouse inventory and performing logistics functions
