Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bookkeeper to manage the company's financial records, up to the balance sheet and payroll records. This is a key role within our finance team, involving a variety of responsibilities such as managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling financial transactions, preparing monthly financial statements, recording payroll, and supporting tax-related tasks. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently with a high level of accuracy, professionalism, and efficiency.
This is an hourly part-time position (20-25 hr/week) based in Florida, with hybrid work flexibility (1-2 days per week in the office). If you are a skilled bookkeeper with a proactive approach and a passion for maintaining accurate financial records, we would love to hear from you!
Responsibilities
- Manage and process all accounts payable transactions, including reviewing and approving vendor/supplier invoices with the Finance Controller, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Handle full-cycle bookkeeping, including preparing income statements, balance sheets, bank reconciliations, and financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annually) for management and stakeholders.
- Manage company credit card accounts on multiple virtual payment platforms with proper usage, documentation, and timely reconciliation.
- Oversee and ensure accurate month-end close activities, including reconciliations, reporting, and resolving discrepancies to maintain financial accuracy.
- Oversee invoicing, payments via a virtual payment processing platform, and vendor management to ensure seamless transaction processing and proper documentation.
- Maintain vendor relationships, address payment-related issues
- Record payroll transactions in ERP, manage tax filings (e.g., 1099 forms), and ensure compliance with payroll reporting regulations
- Monitor cash flow, and departmental budgets, support financial forecasting, and collaborate with leadership on strategic financial planning.
- Assist with external audits to maintain compliance and accurate financial records.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree (AA) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Certified Bookkeeper credentials - a must
- At least 3 years of proven experience in a similar role, managing bookkeeping up to the balance sheet
- Ability to work independently, with precision and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with various departments
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in NetSuite, Bill.com, Navan, and Mesh (virtual payment platform).
- Experience with payroll recording, ideally with Paychex or similar payroll systems.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial applications.
