Regional Operations Manager

5300 S County Road 1180, Midland, TX ·

About The Position

Percepto is the leading provider of autonomous inspection and monitoring solutions, harnessing robotics, including its very own market-leading industrial drone-in-a-box solution. Our team is made up of software and hardware engineers, industry experts, and professionals who are all passionate about innovation and driven to push the boundaries of what’s possible with software, AI, and hardware. We are a fast-growing company with offices in Israel, the U.S., and Australia, with Fortune 500 clients worldwide. Our company growth is not stopping any time soon, and we are looking for great talent like you to join our team!

Job Summary: Percepto is seeking a Regional Operations Manager to serve as the senior on-the-ground leader and operational steward for our Midland, TX operations hub. This is a critical leadership position accountable for the day-to-day health, safety, and execution standards of the region. The successful candidate will own the facility, the equipment assets, and the local coordination required to keep deployment activities, ongoing field operations, and other field services work as well as the workshop execution running smoothly, safely, and to standard.

This is a dynamic, hands-on "player-coach" management role. There are no intermediate managers between you and your technical direct reports. You must maintain strong operational awareness by auditing field work regularly, supporting deployments or complex maintenance, and stepping in directly to resolve execution bottlenecks. You will leverage the technical SME (Subject Matter Expertise) of your Lead Technicians, but must provide the decisive operational leadership, sound judgment, and customer-facing maturity needed to guide the region.

Furthermore, you will own the buildout and ongoing execution of a new service line, helping to shape how it is staffed, priced, delivered, and scaled, which requires simultaneously managing a mature autonomous operations business and a growing services business.

Ultimately, the Regional Operations Manager will serve as the primary operational and cultural bridge between our field teams in Midland and our Florida headquarters.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Management:

  • Directly manage the entire Midland technical team (delivery, field operations, and services)
  • Set and monitor onsite teams’ performance expectations, execute regular 1:1s, and drive accountability for individual and regional outcomes.
  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of all Midland personnel, owning their entire on-site tenure from their first day to their last day. Responsibilities include delivering the physical "first day" onboarding experience across all functions, co-owning recruitment, and spearheading local performance management.
  • Focus on the leadership development of the Lead Delivery and Lead Field Technicians, preparing them as senior ICs and future leadership candidates.
  • Build a strong local safety and execution culture, serving as the cultural ambassador to the Florida HQ.
  • Quickly resolve cross-functional resource or priority conflicts between delivery, ongoing operations, and workshop needs.
  • Manage select services involving data collection through diverse operational methods, leveraging strong coordination and ingenuity to produce and implement innovative new solutions.

Site Operations, Facility & Execution Management

  • Direct daily workflows, lead operational stand-ups, and align team resources to meet project timelines, ensuring a smooth transition from workshop preparation to field delivery.
  • Take full ownership of the physical workshop environment, establishing and enforcing rigorous housekeeping, safety, and 5S standards to maintain a compliant, efficient, and professional workspace.
  • Oversee the lifecycle, calibration, and preventative maintenance schedules of all site equipment and specialized tooling, ensuring all assets are fully certified and ready for deployment.
  • Collaborate closely with the Lead Delivery Technician and Lead Field Operator to translate their technical insights into actionable operational plans, making critical, high-pressure decisions when priorities conflict.
  • Partner with Safety teams to manage facility compliance, lead safety walkthroughs, conduct hazard assessments, and champion a proactive zero-incident culture.
  • Manage site inventory levels, spare parts, and consumables to prevent bottlenecks while serving as the primary point of contact for building maintenance, utility providers, and third-party contractors.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics—such as asset utilization, maintenance turnaround times, and delivery accuracy—to continuously optimize site workflows.
  • Proactively identify scheduling conflicts, equipment vulnerabilities, or logistical constraints, developing contingency plans and making decisive calls under pressure to resolve delays.

Safety, Compliance & HSE:

  • Embody and drive a strong, proactive site safety culture through regular walkthroughs and immediate corrections of unsafe conditions or behaviors.
  • Lead regular toolbox talks, ensuring high-quality engagement and relevant safety topics.
  • Ensure the Midland site and all operations meet or exceed OSHA standards and all applicable safety regulations. This includes enforcement across Warehouse operations during local oversight.
  • Act as the Incident Commander for any site-related emergencies or accidents.
  • Ensure all deployment, ongoing field, and workshop activities are executed safely and conform strictly to Percepto safety standards.

Field Services Buildout & Delivery

  • Own the launch and ongoing execution of Percepto's manual drone flights and broader field services offering out of Midland
  • Build the operational foundation: workflows, pricing inputs, scheduling, quality standards, safety protocols, and documentation
  • Determine staffing model for the new service line - whether to cross-train existing team members, hire dedicated field service personnel, or use a hybrid approach - and drive execution once decided
  • Coordinate with commercial, PM, and AM teams on service scoping, customer commitments, and delivery expectations
  • Track service line performance (utilization, delivery quality, customer satisfaction, unit economics) and report to the Global Operations Director

Player-Coach Field Presence:

  • Field Awareness: Visit site locations regularly to maintain sharp operational awareness and stay connected to the actual work.
  • Deployment Support: Audit deployments, critical site surveys, ATPs (Acceptance Test Procedures), and complex ongoing operations activities during peak periods or when needed for regional success.
  • Critical Escalations: Directly handle critical field escalations, customer-facing issues, or when immediate site seniority is required. Technically literate enough to make sound operational calls without needing to be the SME.

Cross-Functional Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Senior Point of Contact: Serve as the senior Midland hub point of contact for all other Florida-based functional leaders (Delivery, Ongoing Ops, Support, Project Management, Account Management, HR, People Operations).
  • Reporting & Updates: Provide regular, high-quality operational updates, forecasts, and critical escalations to the Global Operations Director. Partner with internal logistical teams on local readiness.

Requirements

  • An engineering educational background is required.
  • 7+ years in operations, field operations, or facility management.
  • At least 3 years directly managing highly technical teams. Matrix management experience—leading individuals whose functional direction comes from remote leaders—is required.
  • Proven background in technical field operations (examples include industrial robotics, energy, industrial equipment, telecom infrastructure, or similar high-value assets).
  • Strong working understanding of deployment, installation, workshop, or technical field service processes. Must be able to credibly guide and challenge the work without being the deepest SME.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial warehouse and workshop safety protocols and OSHA standards.
  • Exceptionally organized, with a proven ability to balance fluid deployment timelines, competing ongoing operations demands, and structured workshop throughput.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. Able to bridge effectively between HQ commercial priorities and field execution realities, technical and non-technical stakeholders, and corporate leadership and technician execution.
  • Regional travel and extended hours during operational peaks are expected.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Midland base required.
  • Part 107 is a plus.
